This work is based on the concept of ‘Eight Scenic Spots in Yuejin,’ specifically ‘Moon Pond Frog Drum,’ attempting to recreate the beautiful scenery of Moon Pond while incorporating elements of modern technology to add a fantastic vitality and longing to the pond. The artwork takes the form of dual towers to represent the inseparable relationship between the virtual and the real. The main tower, located beside the Yongcheng Theater, depicts a tree-like structure towering into the sky, symbolizing the splendid harmony between humans and nature. The secondary circular tower, situated on the other side, is connected to Moon Pond, providing a fresh interpretation of the entire scene of ‘Moon Pond Frog Drum’ through AR virtual reality digital art.
The three layers on the facade of the Moon Pond Fantasy Towers represent the ‘past,’ ‘present,’ and ‘future’ of life and the local bloodline of the area, perpetually revolving around the central tower pillar, symbolizing the continuous flow and eternal presence in everyone’s hearts at every stage of life. The architecture, both on the building and extending to the ground, reflects the artist’s unique style using glass mirror surfaces, akin to the reflection of moonlight on Moon Pond, resonating with the emotions of all spectators.
The surroundings of the twin towers are adorned with various plants, creating an environment rich in life elements and fantastic ambiance. The artist draws inspiration from local plants, especially those planted by the community, such as hibiscus flowers and ferns. By incorporating jellyfish-shaped plants, the artist seeks to reinterpret their inherent personalities and life meanings, constructing the envisioned Fantasy Pond Forest.
