Halo

作品的靈感來自修德拜亭，曾為台南古鎮鹽水的神聖禮拜場所。修德拜亭建於 1919 年，歷史可追溯至清朝，為原修德禪寺的一部分，對於社區發展具有關鍵的影響。

在佛教中，「光」是啟蒙的重要隱喻，意思是覺醒或對真理的理解。佛陀經常被描繪成頭部或身體周圍有光環。就像時間的間隙一樣，裝置以光環的形式發光，在產生光線的同時也展示歷史悠久的場地相較於繁華街區的複雜。動態而純淨的白光散發出無形的光環，如同入口般，讓我們窺視過去和未來。

The artwork is inspired by Xiu De Bai Pavilion, a former sacred place of worship in the historic town of Yanshui, Tainan. Built in 1919, the pavilion was part of a Buddhist temple with history tracing back to the Qing dynasty and was pivotal in supporting the community.

Light in Buddhism is an important metaphor for enlightenment, meaning awakening or understanding of truth. Buddha is often depicted with a halo surrounding the head or body. Like a gap in time, the installation glows in a form of a halo, creating rays of light while revealing the intricacy of the historic pavilion against the bustling neighbourhood. The dynamic yet pure white light emanates an intangible aura, like a portal, allowing us to peek into the past and future.
