雖然在400年前我們就進入了世界的舞臺，但是近代我們反而被世界遺忘，直到近年來世界上似乎對臺灣又有種「忽聞海上有仙山」的感覺，我們有豐富資源的生態島嶼，也有尖端發展的科技島嶼，而這些都是我們生活在這裡共同養育及屏障我們的護國神山。大武壠族的魚笱象徵著山峰，空間上，一個個串聯起臺灣的山脈，竹編代表的文化傳統及光碟象徵著永續循環和科技發展，過去和未來的時間也接續在一起。
400 years ago, Taiwan stepped onto the stage for the Age of Discovery. More recently, it surprised the world again as a
mysterious island. The interconnecting array of Taivoan fish traps represents the guardian mountain range of the island. The
twisting bamboo strips serve as the city walls of the Prefectural City, and the surrounding bamboo poles represent the thorny
bamboo used in its construction. Finally, the metal discs covering the fish traps symbolize creations of technology. The floating platform in the night is reminiscent of a shrouded mountain.
